Jewelry Maintenance

Like all materials, pearls also require maintenance.

Use, residues of sweat, creams or perfume, air pollution and exposure to the sun can alter the luster of the pearl.

The cotton thread used in the assembly of the pearls also needs maintenance and should be replaced (depending on use, normally every year).

I invite you to wear your jewelry as much as possible because the pearl is a “living stone” and needs to be outdoors.

Given that the pearls are of excellent workmanship, below, I leave you some small and simple tips to follow to always keep them in excellent condition:

  • wear them only after spraying on perfume or in any case make sure that the perfume does not fall on the pearl;
  • avoid exposing them to corrosive agents such as chlorine present, for example, in swimming pools;
  • although the creams are not aggressive, if possible put on the pearls once the body cream has been completely absorbed;
  • To clean pearls, use gentle soaps and check that they do not contain ammonia because it deteriorates the pearls;
  • Do not use highly abrasive cloths or sponges, as they will scratch the surface and ruin the precious nacre layer.

As with repairs, we can offer you cleaning and maintenance services.
